From 1 September, it will have to be applied differently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will in fact be\u00a0<\/span><b>The use of diphenyltrimethylbenzoylphosphine oxide (TPO) is prohibited.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0This ban follows the publication in May 2025 of Regulation (EU) No 2025\/977 (known as Omnibus VII) amending Regulation (EC) No 1223\/2009 as regards the use in cosmetic products of certain substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR), the French Ministry of Economy and Finance announced in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, this substance is used, in particular, in the\u00a0<\/span><b>semi-permanent enamels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0. This decision affects the entire sector and concerns nail technicians, beauty centres, training centres and specialist retailers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>TPO-free alternatives<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This ban comes into force on 1 September 2025 and\u00a0<\/span><b>does not provide for a time limit for the disposal of stocks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0of products on the market, regardless of their holding stage (manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and professional users),\u201d the Ministry of Economy and Finance specifies. Manufacturers must now turn to TPO-free alternatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 1 September,\u00a0<\/span><b>manufacturers will no longer be allowed to market cosmetic products containing TPO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0. Furthermore, these products will no longer be available to the public or professionals. The use of these products, in particular by professionals in the context of their services (application of nail varnish, manicures, etc.) will also be prohibited.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>What to do for healthy nails?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Take a break of 1-3 days between manicures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and the other, moisturising the nails with castor oil. Rich in fatty acids, it strengthens the nails and encourages their growth. Take advantage of this time without polish to inspect your nails and look for signs of infection, detachment of the nail\u00a0<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the finger or discolouration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Avoid nail polish removers with acetone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0, which weaken and dry out the nails, making them soft and brittle.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to achieve a successful home manicure with natural products, you can make your nails shine like polish. The home routine for beautiful and well-groomed nails is not complicated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some tips:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cut them once a week with a nail clipper and round off the edges with a cardboard file. For toenails, file the upper part as well, unlike hand nails, because toenails tend to thicken more;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After cutting them, treat them carefully with two natural ingredients: lemon and monoi oil. Procedure: Generously coat the nails with the oil, massage it in up to the edges. Then, with half a lemon, rub gently. The lemon will clean, provide vitamins and whiten the nail. Dry with a paper towel. Gently pass the nails through the polisher. They should shine like with clear polish;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nourishing the nails is essential: if the edge of the nail is dry, massage it with a nourishing oil (mono\u00ef oil, but also argan oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, etc.) at least every other night, and sleep all night with greasy nails. Be careful: the small nails on the edges should not be cut too much! Only remove those that stick out. Between two coats of polish, especially if it is a long-lasting polish, let your nails breathe.
