The Mediterranean unites."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le <strong>Mediterranean navies<\/strong> West will meet in <strong>Orbetello<\/strong> (Grosseto) in an extraordinary event to address the alien species phenomenon, with a special focus on the <strong>Blue Crab<\/strong> and on the <strong>Lion Fish<\/strong>. The meeting, organised by <strong>Acli Terra<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Orbetello Fishermen's Cooperative<\/strong>, will be held <strong>Monday 6 October, at 17:00<\/strong>, at the tasting centre hall of I <strong>Fishermen of Orbetello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>The objective<\/h3>\n<p>The aim of the discussion is to transcend national borders, also involving the <strong>marinas of Marseille and Ajaccio (Corsica),<\/strong> to share experiences and best practices. The central theme will be the possibility of seeing alien species no longer as a threat, but as an economic and food resource.<\/p>\n<h3>The declarations<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWith Acli Terra we bring together three important marinas in the western Mediterranean - Orbetello, Marseille and Ajaccio - to discuss the Blue Crab,\u201d explained <strong>Nicola Tavoletta<\/strong>, National President of <strong>Acli Terra<\/strong>. \u201cIt will be a time of cooperation and fraternity, where we will transfer concrete solutions adopted in the different areas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe meeting was mainly for a discussion on how to establish what is being done,\" he added <strong>Pier Luigi Piro<\/strong>, President of the <strong>Orbetello Fishermen's Cooperative<\/strong> - and what can be done to make sense of this alien species that is invading our seas.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Guests<\/h3>\n<p>The event, moderated by <strong>Chiara Serracchiani<\/strong> (Vice President Lagin Factory), will be attended by industry experts, including <strong>Valerio Crespi<\/strong> (FAO official), <strong>Alberto Felici<\/strong> (MARAC UniCam Master Director) and <strong>Claudio Brinati<\/strong> (Marine Biologist).
