And if at times we are tempted to doubt God's goodness because of the vicissitudes of history, if we are assailed by doubt even towards man, because we do not know if he is good or rather intimately evil and dangerous, if we even doubt the Church because of the controversies and miseries that trouble her, then let us look to these men who opened themselves to God, to these men in whom God took form.
