Catering and Farm Stays: Acli Terra relaunches the dossier on family businesses after Fipe 2026 data

Following the meeting held yesterday in Ovada and in view of the Orbetello event on 24 and 25 April, *Acli Terra* refocuses on the evolution of the family business, in light of the analyses that emerged from the recentFipe Confcommercio 2026 Catering Report*.

The association's dossier, originally submitted in September and updated in January, strongly feeds into the current debate: while on the one hand the family is confirmed as a strategic asset (with 37.3% of family-led businesses and 70% of entrepreneurs assisted by relatives), on the other hand, an alarming figure emerges: *solo il 10% degli imprenditori punta con convinzione sulla continuità generazionale*.

“The family model can no longer be considered merely a social safety net, but must evolve into a model of professional excellence,” stressesNicola Tavoletta*, national president of Acli Terra. “In a sector that struggles to find staff – with an estimated annual need of between 159,000 and 214,000 units – job qualification is the only way to restore dignity to the profession and not lose the values of tradition”.

Despite the fall in the number of businesses (-1%) and employees (-10.3%), the sector shows extraordinary resilience, with consumption reaching *100 billion eurosTo support this growth, Acli Terra reiterates the need to invest in technical and technological innovation, especially in disadvantaged areas and peripheries.

*Focus on Agriturismi: Ovada's Comparison*
Just yesterday, Sunday 12th April, atOvada (Alessandria)*, National President Nicola Tavoletta, along with the head of legislative affairs *Francesco Prina* and to the territorial management of Liguria and Piedmont, the theme of generational turnover in agriturismos was explored. This latter sector is healthy: in 2024 the units rose to 26,360 (+0.9%), with tourist demand growing by 4.3%(4.7 million visitors, more than half of them foreign) and an economic value increasing by 3.3%.

*Next stop: Orbetello*
Acli Terra's commitment to promoting concrete solutions for family businesses will continue24 and 25 April in Orbetello (Grosseto)*, where the dossier will once again be at the centre of discussions with the sector's professional bodies.
