The roar of Ferrari engines ripped through the silence of a Roman Sunday to become an anthem of solidarity and inclusion. In the capital, the emotion of the “Ferrari Christmas Day”, the appointment that sees the legendary “Reds” as the protagonists of a special day dedicated to the children of the’Italian Association of Down Persons (AIPD).
A combination of myth and memory
The event, organised by the Ferrari Passione Rossa, passed through the streets of the city centre before reaching its beating heart: the Giovanni Falcone Prison Police Cadet School“ in Via Brava. A non-random place, where the value of legality meets social commitment. Welcoming the young people, amidst the emotion of those present, was the shrine that holds the remains of the Quarto Savona 15, the car of Judge Falcone's escort: a silent reminder that framed an event projected towards a future of hope.
On the track with the champions
Making the day unforgettable was the multi-time record holder Fabio Barone, president of Passione Rossa and holder of 7 Guinness World Records. The champion provided the cars and his experience to let the youngsters experience the thrill of climbing aboard Maranello's racing cars. Amid smiles and amazement, youngsters like Matteo were able to occupy the passenger seat, transforming a distant dream into a tangible reality just a few days before Christmas.
Institutions and “history to the future”
The event was attended by leading figures from institutions and the judiciary, including Undersecretary Andrea Delmastro, the Head of the Department of Penitentiary Administration and the Head of the Central Investigation Unit (NIC).
Claudia Conte, journalist and testimonial of the event, underlined the depth of the message underlying the event: «There is no future without awareness, knowledge and memory.
