The US President Trump, shortly before one o'clock Italian time, announced the reaching of the agreement in the Middle East. In summary what will happen according to the Plan as reported by La Repubblica “The signing of the agreement in Gaza is scheduled for 11am Italian time;
The ceasefire should come into effect on the ground in Gaza as soon as the agreement is signed.
In the first 24 hours the Israeli army will complete the first phase of the partial withdrawal
Netanyahu will convene the security cabinet at 2pm (Italian time) and the government at 3pm to approve the agreement.
The prisoners could be released as early as Saturday and by Monday at the latest.”
The Cardinal PizzaballaAgreement gives confidence, path to peace. “Undoubtedly this is good news. The road to peace is a long one, but it has to begin somehow. These gestures, especially the release of the hostages and prisoners, the partial, at least initial withdrawal of the Israeli army, give that confidence necessary to continue”. Thus the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Card. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, commented on the agreement on the cessist the fire between Hamas and Israel.
After the release of the hostages and the partial withdrawal of Israel, negotiations will take place for the laying down of arms and the exit of Hamas from Gaza and its reconstruction under international administration. All this is the precondition for a lasting peace and the desired solution of two peoples and two states at peace with each other. The Plan supported from the start by Arab countries, the Palestinian National Authority, Israel and the UN, was effectively negotiated and achieved the goal of putting Hamas in a position of isolation and without support. Hamas out of Gaza was and is the essential condition for peace and future developments. The attempt by Iran and all those who thundered against the Peace Plan to convince Hamas to continue the war failed.
In Gaza and Israel they celebrate.
